Ongoing Prevention and Awareness

Ongoing prevention and awareness campaigns for students and employees are include, but are not limited to information about: the prohibition on crimes of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault; the definition of those crimes; the definition of consent in reference to sexual activity; safe and positive options for bystander intervention; information on risk reduction, and how to report sexual violence.

New and incoming students also learn the above information in Freshman Seminar course CUFS-100 and other new student orientation programs.

Title IX primary programming for CUFS-100 learning objectives specifically include:

  • Identify characteristics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and define behaviors that may indicate relational harm or imbalance.
  • Reflect of students’ relationship with themselves, including how their academic and personal choices impact their emotional well-being.
  • Learn to apply strategies that strengthen both interpersonal relationships and self-care practices.
  • Recognize and access campus resources that support students’ emotional well-being and personal growth.

It’s On Us ÐßÐßÊÓƵ

ÐßÐßÊÓƵ is taking the pledge and making a personal commitment to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault as part of the “” campaign.

We can all prevent sexual assault. It’s on us, as a ÐßÐßÊÓƵ family, to

  • recognize that non-consensual sex is sexual assault,
  • identify situations in which sexual assault may occur,
  • intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given, and
  • create an environment at ÐßÐßÊÓƵ where sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.
